SCO case takes a double battering, Apr 09, 2004
SCO has suffered a double blow in its legal attempts to force recognition of what it claims is Linux' infringement of its copyright.
Citing delays in the discovery process of its $5 billion lawsuit with IBM, the company asked a Utah court to move back the trial date in the case by five months, to mid-September 2005.
At the same time, a US District Court judge stayed a lawsuit brought by Red Hat against SCO saying that the key issues in the case are already being examined in the IBM case, but would not request SCO's demand that the case be thrown out.
Linux a national security risk, competing RTOS vendor claims, Apr 09, 2004
Proprietary RTOS vendor Green Hills and its CEO Dan O'Dowd have launched a broadside against the use of Linux in military and defense applications. Green Hills has issued a press release based on O'Dowd's anti-Linux remarks at a speech to the Net-Centric Operations Industry Forum in McLean, Va.
MozDex.com, Open Source Search Engine Launched, Apr 09, 2004
Today is the beta launch of mozdex.com , an Open search system built on open source technologies. April 6th marks the first public tests of our systems in preparation for a full index of the Internet in the coming weeks.
Mozdex.com offers the firsts OPEN search system based on publicly available software, APIs and algorithms, said Byron Miller, President at Small Productions. There is no secrecy into understanding the results or ranking thereof offering the first public insight into an open index.

In the beginning, there was Linus. He said, let there be Linux, and Linux was there. Actually he wrote some code. Then there was Miguel. He said, let there be GNOME. Actually he announced it on IRC. But then GNOME was there. As many years passed, both Linux and GNOME grew in size and complexity at niceness. And so it is that we have on our doorsteps, Linux 2.6, and GNOME 2.6.
