SCO adds copyright claim to IBM suit, Feb 06, 2004
SCO Group has significantly widened its Unix and Linux lawsuit against IBM, adding a copyright infringement claim to the already complicated case, sources said Thursday.
The Lindon, Utah-based company amended its claims against IBM on the eve of a hearing about what information Big Blue needs to disclose to SCO, one of numerous steps along the path to a scheduled trial date of April 11, 2005.
KDE Launches 3.2 Graphical User Interface for Linux, Unix, Feb 06, 2004
The KDE Project on Tuesday released the newest version of its Linux/Unix graphical user interface that sports a number of improvements, new applications, and a Web browser built on Apple's Safari.
KDE is one of the two most popular desktop suites for Linux -- Gnome is the other -- and is the default interface on systems running Ark Linux, Conectiva, Knoppix, Lindows, Lycoris, Mandrake Linux, SUSE Linux, TurboLinux, and Xandros. It's also available as an option on a host of other OS distributions, including Debian, Free/Open/NetBSD, Gentoo, Libranet, Red Hat Linux, Slackware, and Solaris.
SCO Critic Joins OSRM, Feb 06, 2004
Open Source Risk Management, LLC (OSRM), an open-source risk management company, announced today that Pamela Jones, the editor and moderator of Groklaw.net has agreed to become the company's Director of Litigation Risk Research. Groklaw.net is the most popular sites devoted to reporting and commentary on the SCO case and other present and threatened litigation against the Linux kernel and other open source software.
