The KDE Project on Tuesday released the newest version of its Linux/Unix graphical user interface that sports a number of improvements, new applications, and a Web browser built on Apple's Safari.
KDE is one of the two most popular desktop suites for Linux -- Gnome is the other -- and is the default interface on systems running Ark Linux, Conectiva, Knoppix, Lindows, Lycoris, Mandrake Linux, SUSE Linux, TurboLinux, and Xandros. It's also available as an option on a host of other OS distributions, including Debian, Free/Open/NetBSD, Gentoo, Libranet, Red Hat Linux, Slackware, and Solaris.
