Released on schedule, to the day, it is the culmination of six months effort
by GNOME contributors around the world: hackers, documentors, usability and
accessibility specialists, translators, maintainers, sysadmins, companies,
artists, users and testers. Due to their hard work, we have another great

Microsoft Corp. may lose 15,000 customers for its Windows operating system as the Viennese city government considers phasing in Linux software, a city official said yesterday.
The Austrian capital will decide by the middle of 2004 whether to start phasing in Linux, said Erwin Gillich, deputy head of the city's information technology unit.

In a letter dated Tuesday, the maintainer of the Linux kernel dismissed an offer from SCO Chief Executive Officer Darl McBride to negotiate the dispute with the open-source community. "There doesn't seem to be anything to negotiate about. SCO has yet to show any infringing IP (intellectual property) in the open-source domain," Torvalds wrote.

The code is quite rough in many places, but many of the developers use it on a daily base and kdepim has improved so much that you can't live without it once you've tried it. :)
