Nvidia tool enables Linux auto-update, Mar 31, 2003

Graphics chip leader Nvidia released new software on Monday intended to make it easier for Linux users to update video drivers on their system

Sun Microsystems will phase out its customised Sun Linux and move instead to partnerships with Red Hat and other mainstream Linux companies, executives said Friday.

I used the little machine daily for the whole period of which it was on loan to me. While I couldn't watch DVDs on it, I was able to get some usefulness out of it. The bug was found in the prescan function, which is used to parse e-mail addresses from incoming messages. By sending a malformed e-mail message to a Sendmail server, it may be possible for a remote attacker to gain entry to vulnerable machines.
