At the opening address, conference organiser James Bromberger introduced a "special guest that you've probably all heard about". A penguin-suited person briefly wandered out onto the stage. A few minutes later, as Mr Bromberger wound up his speech, the penguin returned to the stage and pulled off the head of his costume - revealing himself as Mr Torvalds, to the delight of the audience.
