Red Hat Introduces New Linux Version, Apr 16, 2001
Red Hat Inc. has introduced Linux 7.1, which incorporates the latest version of the Linux kernel and improved enterprise functionality.
The new version, available April 24, also includes configuration tools designed to make it easier to set up and administer DNS, Web, and print servers and other network connectivity functionality.
PGP working with NSA on Linux security prototype, Apr 16, 2001
A division of PGP Security has entered a partnership with the U.S. National Security Agency and other partners to further develop the NSA's Security Enhanced Linux (SELinux) prototype, PGP Security announced last week.
Some Slackware core team members laid off, Apr 16, 2001
David, Logan, and I were laid off from BSDi. Slackware will continue to be maintained. Right now, we can't say too much about what's going on due to the usual corporate hejaz, but hopefully we will be able to explain later. For now, keep on supporting Slackware and we'll continue to work on it"
