So I'm the "Noobie" here. And although I've been a Windows Administrator for networks since "Windows NT 4.0" I'm a literal virgin here in the world of Linux.....well not QUITE! I've been using Fedora since version 15....and ever since I got into Linux and the various ways it's different from MacOS and Windows the more I appreciate it and refuse to use anything else...and while I know that's a narrow minded opinion to have, I can't let go of the fact that all of the great tools, and apps that I use on a daily basis, from ThunderBIrd E-Mail Client, through to Midori Web Browser....are not only created, but offered freely to the public and supported by the same "techno-geeks" who BUILT it! I applaud them because they're doing this not for money, or for fame & merit, but strictly because they're passionate about what they do! I myself am trying to educate myself to the COMPLETE workings of Linux....from the Kernel to the Desktop Environment.....but I think it might be a little too much of a task for me....I'm 41.....and since I've strayed from Windows.....XP........Vista........and 7 have come.and gone.....and now comes Windows 8....and I'm not trained on any of the Microsoft new stuff....so I'm hoping to at least get a "certification" for SOME role in the Linux community, and although I'm not looking for a huge salary......it would be nice to land a gig somewhere close to where I live in Bushkill PA, and to make a decent salary, one that would allow me to remain in my comfortable "zone" of being frugal and conservative. I'm in the middle ofthe tutorials on this site and I want to get as far as I can with this, because if I knew THEN what I know NOW...I myself might have ended up a Linux "Ambassador"....here's to the future of "Open Source Computing" and it's continuance into the future!!
