Yeemp is a decentralized encrypted instant
messaging program. All messages after initial
key exchange are encrypted using GPG and should
be unreadable to your server's administrator
(unless they've cracked the encryption
algorythm or gained access to your private key);
communication between client and server is
via SSL to prevent eavesdroppers from
determining who you're sending messages to.
Yeemp supports image chat using the QV-10a
(and compatible) digital camera, file transfer,
and custom per-user status icons and sounds.
Yeemp includes the programs yeempd, yeemp (an
interactive console client), sendyeemp (a
noninteractive console client), xeemp (a GTK
client), and weemp.cgi (a web-based client).
yeemp and xeemp can also send messages to
contacts using the AIM and ICQ protocols;
however, these are not encrypted.
