Application: hostinfo

Hostinfo is a utility for looking up hostnames and IPv4 addresses. Hostinfo uses the gethostbyname(3) and getaddrbyname(3) function calls, which means it tells you what your operating system really thinks rather than simply doing direct DNS lookups. Hostinfo provides options for both displaying and interpreting IP addresses in hexadecimal and backslash-octal notations as well as in the traditional base-10 dotted-quad notation.
