Hey guys the problem was fixed somehow on it's own but I think I know what it was: As suggested by @Alexzee I toggled which application opens the PDF and then set back to firefox and that seemingly made it work after firefox restart. All help of others is appreciated as well!

I bet this error has something to do with routing tables, especially if dynamic routing protocol is used, that is, without static routing tables.
