    @Toshmarple dont give up yet, its had windows 8.1 or higher on it so just make sure you have disabled windows quick start and windows secure boot in the bios, be aware of what i have said 2 post up from here. Now I will give you a link, this should work for most Ubuntu based distribution...

    No you have MINT, and it doesn't matter if it's Mint21 mate mint 21 cinnamon or Mint LMDE, it comes already installed and configured [if it wasn't then you would not have been able to run the commands]
