A couple years ago i had a habit of manually "patching" ISOs, incl. Mint' with 'ia32' components so to self-install on my former Atom 32/64 hybrid tablet. It worked at 1st but then auto-updates caused it to self-destroy, eventually... Idem for MX of which 1 release worked out of the box once...
UPDATE:
Once i paid closer attention to Celluloïd i started to realize it was tempting to interpret the numbers just a little further, aided here with colour:

If it doesn't pass the double test of loading from a 'YUMi-exFAT' USB flash unit then survive rebooting after an install (from its "live" RAMDisk) that's just too bad but i've started to feel very selective these days. By chance there's enough to get busy with periodic updates and all... Think...
There's been a new release of MX recently, so i gave it some fair try exploring many different situations:

If it weren't for the late transition to pipewire i'd have my favourite...
Salutations!
Earlier this month i needed to "upgrade" my hardware so i got a Dell NoteBook S/T "B92LTW3", the Inspiron 15 3xxx (End-of-Line) series with board 0DVVYG A00 inside, except those details didn't appear until it was in my hands... Anyway i've done my best to decide which Linux breed...
Disabling the external HDMi display during boot time was NOT my idea; yet it may have been this way before i noticed, from the begining. Anyway it sort of worries me still not having a BiOS recovery flash drive, being too lazy (after getting drained...), just assuming Dell's safeguards can...
It arrived swiftly, ~2 weeks ago. Yet if i were Dell i'd only need to argue that Windows 11 Fam "S" is working as they expect. It turns out Dell would be correct, as long as i used Windows my favourite VLC application and BlueTooth earphones it provided me solid performance (i could move, even...
« If it ain't broke don't fix it. »
I wish!
« If you can't fix it don't break it. You reap what you tweak. »
There's a trap hidden in every corner indeed.

Data collection goes on, quite patiently, e.g. much slower than initially planned. At least it's clear the...
The 3rd one, entirely devoted to Win11 (1p3):
Sounds like advice i might want to keep in mind! But i'm afraid nothing can embelish the sort of dull experience i had with Dell so far, downloading Ubuntu Cinnamon only reminded me it now insists to NOT ignore my exclusive Win11 'ESP' partition...
Well, "polite" means i performed the un-bitlocking via Windows exclusively, switching to Linux only after the partition had been reduced and a reboot still using Windows would happen to agree. Ah, and while i think of it i also saved my keys before touching anything...
Back to the announced...
That's a topic which made me curious considering i've recently purchased one of their Inspiron 15 3520.
Install? Inside MicroSoft's new cage called the 'Windows Subsystem for Linux' (WSL) perhaps?!...
Well, initially i found it was necessary to be polite with Win11 Fam "S", which refused to...
Maybe my judgment will feel too acidic, but in retrospective many of my initial expectations didn't verify, starting with its SD reader which happens to stick out halfway, then the HDMi extension actually staying blank at boot time... Not to mention i couldn't verify the early claims of DP...
UPDATE
The release of Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (and its "L"/"X" variants) emerged on my Linux radar yesterday via YouTube, so i started downloading and didn't stop at 3!
:p
The "CLi" has its uses but that's not how Linux is going to gain popularity trying to deal with « End Users », as was...
Being in the 3rd age i can only agree it's no longer an option.
It wasn't too bad for a purchase but no bargain neither, considering there's zero mention anywhere of the model i've actually chosen on Dell's own web site. What bothers me is the claim of support for Linux Ubuntu launched from...
